Cool Re-introducing myself after a long hiatus.

I think I sold Timex in 2007, so it's been a hot minute since I've owned a Full Size Jeep! I gave away the "J5" Comanche that I never did quite finish putting together, and have been Jeep-less for about a decade....

Well, now I'm 40, driving a little AWD Suzuki SX4 with a 2" lift, Jeep wheels, and AT tires, but really wishing I had a truck to tow and haul things around with.

So I joined the Jeep Trucks group on Facebook and promptly bought a title-less 1975 J20 with a 401/TH400/BW1305 drivetrain in Washington state based on about four pictures and a description that included "runs, drives, stops". That's all well and good, but I live in Florida!

The mid-life crisis must have kicked in real hard, because I've decided to fly out to Washington in June, do a massive amount of maintenance, and drive it back! "In for a pence, in for a pound" came to mind, so to make matters worse I decided to first drive it a few hours NW to the Canada/US/Pacific border for a photo op in front of the Peace Arch near Blaine, WA, then drive it across the country and a few hours SE past my home town for another photo op in South Beach, Miami, FL.

For better or worse, it's going to be a wild ride!

Well ,welcome back!

40 isn't that old if you ask me and i always thought that a midlife crisis does kick in after 60.

Your age is only a number , what counts is how old your body does feel!

It's cool you have another Jeep and project!
And it's a good adventures to drive the jeep home!
Thirteen years ago I picked up the j4000 I had shipped from the US
Picked it up from the Rotterdam harbour. (a couple hours drive from were I live)
Put plates on from a friend that had a car repair shop
aired up the tires and put fuel in the tank at the nearest fuel station and went home in convoy with my brother in his car.
Only the front brakes did work , but it was only a couple hours , and was fun driving it for the first time in it's original worn out state.

I wish you a good and really cool journey!
Take lots of pictures because it's always enjoyable to look back years later!
Cheers on a good adventure!

Hellz yeah! Roadkill style! MAKE SURE you document the WHHHhhoooollllleee thing! Videos, pictures, write ups! the whole thing! I totally want to read all about it. I will be in Boise starting the first week of July so if you pass through, you got a place to stay/wrench if needed.
