What years cross over

New to the Wagoneer world. Just got an 85 Grand Wagoneer. There seems to be a little talk that not a lot changed through out its production run. Is there a good source to see what years I can scavenge parts from. Looking for body parts mostly.

There's going to be variation in the cross over years depending on what particular part it is.
Your 1985 for example has a different style of tail lights to those from '83 and earlier.

Are there any particular parts you're thinking of?

Im looking for a roof rack, drivers side rear quarter panel, maybe doors as some of them are rusted in the bottom, pegs that hold the hood down, front grill is broken in half at the top, clock on the dash missing the trim and clock. Thats all i can think of after only having it a couple weeks. So far I've been surfing around on this sight and ebay trying to get an idea what parts go for and how to recognize a good deal when i see it.

Here are the rough years I'd look for, to the best of my knowledge.
This is by no means accurate so hopefully others will chime in with more knowledge on which years cross over!

-As far as I'm aware, the roof rack looks basically the same through all years in the '80s, to '91. You might find the woodgrain varies though.
-The rear quarter panel I should think will be the same all years, although if you want the bit around the taillight too that will be '84+.
-The doors have some small detail changes over the years, so I think you'd be best looking for a similar year for those, probably anything ~'80s.
-I'm not sure on the hood pegs, but they'll probably be the same through the '70s and '80s, to '91.
-The grill should be a "pig nose" which ran from '79-'85.
-The clock will be different from '86+, so you'll need something earlier than that.

Let me know if you do end up needing doors. I have a very nice, rust-free pair of front doors (from an '81, IIRC).

High quality junk here: intro thread and slow build thread

Did you know? Willys is just Willis spelled differently, but pronounced the same. Neither Willy nor his apostrophe are involved.
