D60 carnage

Had a little carnage last weekend in the snow. Thought I'd share.

EDIT: Oh, here's how deep it got. : )

Ordered some 35 spline shafts & hubs. Anyone know if this snapring comes w/ the hubs? They're Milemarker 459SS. Some like them....some don't.

Not sure if Mile Markers come with the snap ring or not. Thats an interesting place for the shaft to fail though. I don't think I have seen one break like that before.

Is that a DRW front axle?

Yes it is. When it broke, the shaft also swelled the threaded end of the spindle. I had to cut 4 relief cuts in the end of it just to get the two jam nuts off. Pic only has two though. New spindle on order too if one don't show up in my wanted thread.

When I was running those MM lockout hubs, I didn't use those snap rings on my D60. I've since switched over to spicer lockouts because I kept breaking the MM lockouts.

I broke my D60 in the same exact spot. The earlier shafts neck down towards the ujoint and are prone to failing. Replaced it with some shafts that don't neck down.

I welded mine back together and put some DOM tubing around it for a trail spare.
