Guatemalan GW stuck in Nashville ... need help!

Well guys, the GW left for Guatemala last night. Today it is dead-in-the-water around Nashville. Not sure what's going on right now but the engine made a terrible noise and we don't have any feedback yet as to what's going on.

Is there anyone around the Nashville area that might be able to lend a hand with checking out the Waggy?

Thanks for the help, guys.

If it comes down to taking it to a shop, here is the shop finder results from IATN the auto tech. network that I am a member of, I do not know anyone listed, but being a member shows that they take an extra step to do things right.

UPDATE ....

Not sure on the exact noise, but it was spark-knocking going up the hills in Tenn. and then made a very ugly noise.

It will still run ... but #1 spark plug has been smashed by the piston ... that's NOT good. Still waiting for more of an update.

yikes!
what kind of noise are we talking about?
did the engine stop all of the sudden?
notice any shortage of oil pressure?

New Update ... this is craziness

Well ... they have changed a few spark plugs, the electrodes had been slammed shut by the detonation, checked everything out (looks clean), readjusted the timing and it is running GREAT. I repeat, GREAT. Apparently no piston damage ... wild.

So, they are back on the road tomorrow.
