Lightbulb MTNWAG. 86GW

Hello! Poster here a few times in the past. have received great info and hope too in the future.

Last winter I took my bone stock wagoneer and added a SOA/shackle flip, custom bumpers, custom roof rack and EFI. Drove it around the ranch a little bit, playing with the tuning and working bugs out. Then got my hands on a drivetrain from a 93 cummins. And that's when the wheels started turning!

Plan
2inch body
6bt, 5 speed, 60/70s (turbo,IP upgrades,injectors, springs. Shooting for 300+ hp, 8-9 ft lbs torque)
Plated and boxed frame
New bumpers
3-link/Coilover front
Stock springs in rear, outboarded shocks, and a custom cantilever airbag overloads.
New seats (buckets?)
Custom gauge cluster

The project has been going a while, I'll do my best to update as I go.

So far I have original drivetrain pulled, 2 inch body lift done (fixed the one rotted mount, rear left mount), 3/16 plated inside and outside of boxed section (will box rest of the C- section). Coil buckets measured and tacked in place, and motor sitting in the hole!

Stock wag.

Last winters transformation.

Tear Down.

The rest.

That is a cool build. I will be following for sure. On your 93 12 valve, check your fan bearing support very carefully for cracks. They have been known to fail ruining everything in front of the motor. I recently helped a guy get one made at a machine shop. They are extremely hard to come by and we searched every dark corner of the internet. Second gen fan supports are available all day long and won't work without changing everything over. I tried to buy his 93 dodge for almost a year. But ended up helping him get it fixed. And if you don't subscribe to the Diesel registry from Geno's garage, you should. I signed up when I thought I was going to get a 12 valve for my CUCV. I changed my mind but the magazines keep coming. It is truly good reading for first, second and third Gen trucks and their motors.
Great build and looking forward to more.

Can't say I have heard of it the issue with the fan bearing housing. Have heard of the Killer Dowel pin. Plan on fixing that. But I will definitely look into that, thank you!

Motor mounts built and tacked in today.

Transfer case in, and started the cross member. Trying to keep it tucked up tight as possible.

Transmission crossmember in and halfway bolted.

There is tubing connecting the two. The mounts hide it in the pictures.

Rear axle and leafs are out. AMC 20 looks scary small compared to the 70. New springs should show up on UPS tonight.

Great looking build so far. Fun to see somebody else using that excel sheet for three links. That's what I used too when I made my front 5 link. I got my numbers dialed in, and then went out to the truck to weld everything on, I just had to get as close as I could -- I couldn't get mine perfect.
We've even got the same adjustable upper link and panhard mounts. Be careful where you put your frame side panhard mount though. I didn't have much choice with mine, but now on a full suspension cycle it about hits the tie-rod.
Great work on the crossmember too.

Thanks for posting all the pics and info! Looks like you are building a solid rig. I think I speak for all of us when I say we are really looking forward to seeing this truck get back on the road! AWESOME!

Updates?

Hey, I was just wondering how your build was going. What's your finished suspension looking like?
