Thumbs up

Looks like Edelbrock's really going to give us Aluminum Performer Heads, EFI and shorty headers in '04:

http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/...wProdBroch.pdf

PERFORMER RPM PRO-FLO EFI SYSTEMS for Javelin, AMX, Jeep & More. Now AMC and Jeep V8 owners can benefit from powerful Edelbrock multi-point electronic fuel injection system. This system is ideal for high performance street machines as well as Jeep owners who will love the all-weather, all-altitude performance of multi-point fuel injection. Our EFI is not affected by extreme inclines or angles. You get excellent throttle response throughout the rpm range and great fuel economy with incredible power. Systems include an assembled induction module (aluminum manifold, 4V throttle body, fuel rails and injectors), ECM with interchangeable chips, wiring harness, all required sensors, Calibration Module, billet distributor and fuel pump. Using a speed/density system for control over fuel and spark, all Edelbrock EFI Systems provide total engine control... without a laptop computer. Pro-Flo EFI Systems for 343, 360, 390, 401 c.i.d. engines Part No.
For 1967-69 AMC.............3530*
For 1970-91 AMC/Jeep V3531*
Pro-Flo EFI is great for rock crawling, sand stomping off-roaders!

Figure about $300 for the headers, $1500 for a pair of heads and about $2000-$2500 for the complete EFI system.

For $2K to 2.5K, they'd better have a C.A.R.B. and E.O. number for the EFI.

Ah, and the little footnoted asterik in the ad indicates they are not emissions legal in California (or other emisssions controlled areas).

Man, if only they had these out when I was building my motor!
Of course putting those heads on my motor now would give me like 13:1 compression, and smaller valves.
Maybe I will consider them for the next 401 I build. But man, those will not be cheap

Cool, $4,300 for the package. Throw in a minimum $2,000 for a proper rebuild on the engine including the oil mod, and you are up to $6,300!
What a steal!

And just think, you could have had a reliable Ramjet fully loaded with a 3 year, 36,000 mile dealer warranty for a lot less.
