The worst thing about rolling my jeep.....
My fan shroud broke. Flint just told me. I think I'll go and have a nice little cry now. <sad>

Thank you for the offer Sweetie! But we actually have a few shrouds in our parts stash that are in OK shape. Fortunately! It sucks when you need to find that bit or piece for your jeep that is made of Unobtanium.
We've been taking inventory of what Phoebe Too will need and comparing to our inventory of parts and pieces that we have hoarded here and are smacking ourselves for selling off stuff that we thought we'd never need!
Flint sold a pristine set of wrap around tail housing and lenses last year. Now we need to find some! Same goes for trim and interior pieces. And handles and knobs. And a tailgate with defrost. We can harvest a bit of interior stuff from the wreckage. We have a brand new carpet set that we can dye black. We have bucket seats in good shape and bucket seat skins to put on that match her interior.
We have a ton of stuff but as we keep digging deeper we are finding there is a good bit we need to find or consider. We are putting a 67 body on a 77, so we need to swap dashes to accommodate the existing wiring harness. Lots of little details are popping up and will continue to pop up.
And, seriously, when Flint told me the shroud was busted I teared up because I know how hard they are to find!

I will buy you another. Better the fan shroud then your head, neck or back.
Those parts I cannot replace.

I love you Sis. I know how lucky we were. But I gotta keep a sense of humor about it all or it will tear me apart. What can't be changed must be accepted. And if you can do it with a smile, so much the better.

Enough is enough, The shroud was broke in the middle and was hitting the fan blade. I helped to remove it so we could start the engine and drive it out. Sorryyyyyyyy, but I though that would be better than the fan going into the radiator.

So we can do some Fan shroud to 401 trading.
Glad everyone is doing good.
I don't have any trim parts like you need should be around the cold weather and ice on the roads are right around the corner.

I am the king of patched, stitched, riveted, and otherwise re-repaired fan shrouds.
It's one of those things I just had to get used to if I was gonna stick with this FSJ thing. I do know the elation of finding an unbroken one. But I know just as well the depression that comes when it finally breaks. And I am now comfortable with the process of fixing it by whatever means are called for, and just going on with life.
Just the same, condolences.

How pristine do you want your taillights and housings?
I need to make sure the other guy doesn't want them first. Reading this just made me remember someone had PMed me about my set before and I back burner'd the deal because of mass confusion while doing my relocation this year.

Good gollie, what a great idea! I have a ZJ that could use some stitches, and it would fit right in with its "other" character marks.

"The worst thing about rolling my jeep.....is trying to lick the paper..."
Indirect relationship to the Purple valve covers, radiator, and wheel hubs?
