Cylinder Head saga/ EFI driven

So ol Deckside decides he will install a Holley Sniper EFI. Got a CO2 bung welded in then went to get rid of the small exhaust leak coming from the passenger side exhaust manifold. New gasket didnt work. Took out heater box so I could remove the manifold and get it machines. Still leaking. Snugged down the bolts a wee bit more...sure enough one starts spinning. Removed the manifold so I could do helicoil insert...f me running buth the whole bolt hole is wasted away. Screw it...Ill order two manufactured matching cylinder heads Jegs/ ATK says cant ship till Christmas, so I orderd some "nutech" from AutoZone with a week lead time but now getting the "delayed until ?" messages from autozone. Dont want/ cant spend the extra $ on the aluminum cylinder heads that seem to be in abundance...what does a fella do?

Can you increase the stud diameter by 1? Drill and tap the next size up in the old head?

Tried posting a dang picture in the original post but there is literally nothing on the port side of the bolt hole
Im guessing previous owner helicoiled the hole and something caused the steel to rust/ corrode out on the port side.

I'm in Portland...well out at sea right now though. I reckon I could but kind of just wanted to drop in two already rebuilt and send back cores so I don't have to wait around.
