I broke mine. Trying to make it stop leaking any oil (if that's possible on these), I installee some Heli Coils in the timing cover, to make the bolts on the oil pump tighten down all of the way. Long story short, one of them for whatever reason isn't allowimg the bolt to tighten down It's a very frustrating process and I just don't umderstand why it won't tighten down... Anybody have better luck?

Hope you can repair it!
Maybe the heliciol is spinning in the alloy!?
I hope it's not!

Well........
Mongo228 and I replaced OEM - PO wiring for ICM with Painless Harness.....still no spark.
Diving into the distributor pick up coil, as this is the last thing not changed, but does test good?
Constant ohm's at 692 across outside terminals at the plug, but investigating further. Forgot to turn over when testing, to see if ohm reading would jump around.

I got it earlier this week--somehow the tap didn't actually cut the threads into the cover when I installed the Heli-Coil, so the bolt and Heli-Coil got totally trashed. (I had it all apart again when I discovered this) Then I got it all back together and every bolt torqued down, and it leaked like crazy...I somehow got one of the gaskets folded when I installed it. Reinstalled it right this time and it finally quit leaking. It may have a very very very slight, slow drip out of there when it's warm and running, but it is FAR better than it was. And while I was under there I tightened the oil pan bolts back down (I just put the engine in last Nov./Dec., and while it's not all brand new, it has new seals and stuff, so things may still be seating all of the way)(some of the bolts were so loose that I could've removed them without using a wrench
Today I got started on installing my new poly bushings in the front suspension. Since things are still pretty clean and not too rusty, the bolts were not hard to get out, and I almost have the driver's side back together (I'm doing it one spring at a time, and have only worked on the driver's side so far). Also, for anyone else that does this, if you use a press, taking the old bushings out goes WAY faster. I did the first two (front of the spring and the shackle) by hand and it was really destructive, not to mention it took for bloody ever. For the one in the back (which was the little one, which makes no sense to me ), I popped it in the press, and in total, with setup, it took me all of maybe five minutes to get it pressed out, it was stupid fast. Also I had to trim two of the bushings; the ones going into the frame were too wide for the mounts on the frame. It being poly I just used a hacksaw, not a huge deal, but it was kind of unexpected.
Anyway, tomorrow it won't take long to get the driver's side back together, and the passenger's side should go much faster since I know exactly how to go about it now (although the passenger's side was right under that leaky oil pump so it's an oily mess...it may take just as long because of the cleanup), and with any luck it'll track much closer to straight. The rears will still probably walk around some, but the fronts will be pretty well anchored where they're at.

Today we got some more work done on the cab with cutting out rusted metal and scraping foamy glue out of all the nooks and crannies.
Pfffff almost fifth years is leaving it's rust scars all over.
It's rusting from the inside of all areas!
Knowing what fifteen years of living in the outside and daily use can do for rust ,i wished that i had it blasted back then!
Also closing up some not needed factory holes and altered some to make them work for future use.
Did some tinning work on the brow section of the new roof.
So the roofless cab and future roof is almost ready to bring to the blaster.
Hope there are not going to open up more holes after the blaster is done with it!
Have a good weekend!

I dropped my fuel tank to replace the original fuel lines and fix the fuel sending unit. I'm prepping it to install a Fitech fuel injection system too. Mounting the fuel pump, prefileter, post pump filter/regulator and high pressure hose. The factory hoses were pretty soft! they looked like they could bust a any time.

Sadly, NOTHING! They're both driveway art @this point. No $ to work on them.
'88 still down from dip induced accident in 2019, '67 needs basically everything.

Yep, about the same, as $$'s dry up quick.
But truck does keep the concrete under it shaded nicely, until I can get to it
One day at a time!

Title says "what did u to your Jeep" Not, "Full Size Jeep" soooo....
I finished the rebuild and install of my AW4 in my XJ. Installed it, the new to me NP242 transfer case, and rebuilt driveshaft then road tested it. AW4 seems to be working well! WOooo Hoooo! My 2WD XJ is now halfway to 4WD.
For the record, rebuilding an AW4 SUCKS. I will never to do it again. This was my 3rd automatic trans rebuild and one of the most brain frying/unsatisfying jobs I have done in a loooong time. I do not recommend anyone rebuilding their AW4 themselves.

Don't know how long your weekends are!? , but doing jeep stuff through the whole week is not a bad thing!
Yesterday we picked the freshly painted utility bed up from the sand blasters and today in between work appointments the 73 j4000 frame.
Hope to put some things together on Monday!

Going to separate the wheat from the chaff. Everything I cannot haul with me is for sale or going to scrap/swap for what I need.

Get us a list of the chaf, and if I lived closer I would help you haul it all to your next FSJ location
Hate to think of anything related to these trucks going to the scrap yards!
