Humpty nearing 200,000 miles since build

Went on a solid trip out to northern Maine, 1,580 miles out then 1,820 job miles then 1,640 miles back in the span of two weeks. Humpty now has 198,200 miles on it, averaging 24.4 MPG. I stopped and visited with Zack (Z&M) on the way out, he was preparing to head to MOAB for Easter Jeep Safari, I so want to make that some year.. Another thing of note is where are all the FSJ Jeep’s, never seen one on entire trip. I couldn’t count the number of thumbs up and such, every stop people coming up and asking about it. Last winter I put about 6,000 miles on Delta (the 455 Olds powered 70) in northern Minnesota to keep Humpty out of the salt, same thing attention wise. Please get em out and drive em folks, they deserve it. Happy Easter all.

I didn’t know that. Zack found all that, all I can say is thank you.

Yes, the story on that goes something like this:

Sometime in the mid 1980’s my father and I went to see an antique car for sale. When I drove up in my J10 the man told me his son has lost interest in restoring a J20 and showed me all the new parts he has been collecting. His son worked at a Jeep dealership. Forward 15 years I asked my father if he still had the mans phone number. I was shocked to learn that the man still had the parts stored in various places. I bought the whole lot which included nearly all the NOS parts for a complete cab and front clip fully trimmed For $600.

Too cool, when Zack called about that NOS stuff I had to make a quick decision pertaining to going browless. One of the reasons for reaching out looking for a 74-79 J20 to build was I liked/wanted the brow. No regrets

Don’t know why it won’t just post what I type out without the editing bit?
