Talking 1976 J10 Honcho

Hello all!

I am about to get a 1976 J10 and I was wondering what you thought it’s rarity (or not lol) is! It’s a 1976 J10 Honcho with what seems to be the Levi’s interior and the big 6.6L V8 in it. No side step if that makes a difference. Appears fully stock and numbers matching.

Thanks for your input!

Numbers matching is not a thing for Jeeps. Rare is in the eye of the beholder. Ford builds something like a million light trucks a year. Jeep was something like 1/50th of that. Were there 100 1976 J10 Honchos with a 401? Probably. Were there 1000? Seems unlikely. Are they much different from a '77 or '78 of the same model and equipment? No.

I'd like to see the Levi interior. Always liked then in other vehicles and I didn't know Jeep had one.

I remember the introduction of the Levis interior packages. Very attractive.

According to the book, the Levis name was used for interior designs for four years, 1975-78. I recall the CJ seats had brass-look decorative buttons with the Levis name, with the button recalling the brass fly fastener used for Levis jeans. Blue or tan for the CJ, or Blue or Beige for the Cherokee and truck, in a denim-textured vinyl. Not available in the Wagoneer.

Apparently the Levis trademark licensing ended for 1979, and Jeep started calling these fabrics "denim" and the Levis trademark was dropped in both naming and for the decorative buttons.
