Adding a roof handle above passenger door

Is this feasible? Does anyone sell a kit to make it easier? If not specifically for GWs, maybe another vehicle's handle fits, or a generic one?

My most frequent passenger is a short woman who has trouble climbing in and tends to frantically grab at stuff to get leverage.

My GW is a 1988. I have the original headliner and that part of the vehicle is stock, in general.

Thanks

A side step is probably gonna be easier, do you still have a headliner?

Contact Bob Stephens (RStep) in the link below. He makes a grab handle for the A pillar that should do the trick for you.

I was gonna put in 'oh ' handles in my Jeep, and got some promising donors from the junkyard.

The problem is the cardboard headliner sits out from the steel structure. It floats and it's away by 1/2" - 1" or so. The only place it really touches is by the pinchewld strip. So if you screwed handles into the steel structure, thru the headliner, you'd deform the cardboard headliner. So I never put them in.

Yep, good info -

The ones Curly mentioned mount on the A frame, leaving the headliner untouched.
