258ci I6 single Carb rebuild kit?

Anyone have a good source and recommendation for a single barrel carburetor rebuild kit?

This is for a 1973 J4000 with the 258 cu in I6.

Sadly there just does there is many parts out there for this amazingly common engine... Perhaps everyone LS swapped the I6s

Thank you!

Dunno, I went right to it.

You understand that the J4000 label only gives the wheelbase, not the GVWR? A J4500 is the 5000# GVWR version which is most likely if you have a 258. Do you have the TSM? Recommended.

Thank you, I see it on RockAuto now.

Is the Standard Motors kit pretty good and complete?

Yes, Standard is fine. Possible there are better - this gets a lot of discussion on the CJ site: https://www.bing.com/search?q=site%3...carburetor+kit The CJs use the YF both with the AMC 6s and the older Willys 4s. I don't have an opinion, having never rebuilt a YF.

I bought mine from Mikes carburetor shop.

If you call you most likely will talk to him or his daughter and believe me she was impressive for a lady (sorry for being sexist) but that girl knows EVERYTHING about carbs,

Amazing customer service and easy to get advice or help from them.

They carry a bunch of old stuff too.
