AMC 360 Engine problems

Hi there!
My FSJ is having Engine problems since 2 days.
What i recognized 2das before was the cable for oil pressure was not connected. I connected it and the jeep was running ok but when it got hot it stopped running even at idle in drive. So I drove back home with 2 feet on the pedals.

I disconnected the plug again and it runs at idle speed but when i am switch to drive it goes off, same with reverse driving. Idle is ok.

Besides that the engine shackles. It took of plug cables in a row while running with now result.
I had the feeling of little steam coming out from right ventcover when it was hot.
Attached you can see 2 vids engine and exhaust. Please help out with suggestions / solutions.

Unless you have some really screwed up wiring the oil sender has nothing to do with ignition.

There are 100 things it could be, but the first thing I'd do is check for vacuum leaks. take the air cleaner off and slowly cover the air horn with a rag while it's idling. see if it speeds up or dies.

Then rule that out.

Next is ignition or carburation. with so little to go on it hard to recommend which to start with. carburation is a fast check if you have another carb you can swap out with.

Ignition can be a matter of just replacing things until it's fixed . obviously you could have an internal problem but since you have no sounds to indicate it I's try the easy stuff first.

There are two plugs near the oil pressure sending unit. One plug (two pronged) is a switch used to supply the carburetor choke with voltage once oil pressure (~2-3 lbs) is met. The other plug (single wire) is used for the oil sending unit.

If you are disconnecting the 2 pronged plug to make your engine run you could have a problem with the choke mechanism on the carburetor. If that is the case try unplugging the choke electrical wire to see if that is your problem.
