To wood grain or not to wood grain?

I have an 86 Grand Wagoneer and all the wood grain is in good shape except the rear quarters which are bare. I cant buy the stickers for just the rear quarters so the question is, do I strip it all, go with all the wood except the quarters, or buy a whole kit for just those 2 pieces?

Probably going to find the moldings are riveted and taped on. Look to see if they have plugs about 5/32 dia in them. If so, riveted, if not probably just taped on. Wood grain is a time consuming b***h to remove. If you have rivet holes to fill and paint, well, go from there. Got to weld them shut and finish, and paint. At least that's the right way. All up to you, if you like the wood, then get the kit. If current situation doesn't bother you, leave it. If you hate the stuff, then get rid of it. Another option might be to keep the moldings, strip the wood and two tone it inside the moldings. Another thing to think about is condition of what you still have. The new stuff will stand out like a sore thumb, so you might as well replace all of it since you have to get the whole kit

My '84 stuff was just stuck on with foam tape, no holes.

Just say no to shelf paper.

'84 GW with Nissan SD33T, early Chev NV4500, 300, narrowed Ford reverse 44, narrowed Ford 60, SOA/reversed shackle in fornt, lowered mount/flipped shackle in rear.
