On the side of the road

Actually my daughter saw it and had to have it so I bought. Funny how it is mine now.

I went by last Fri and it was still there. The business sign had fallen over, so I didn't get a name. But the $$ on the wind shield read 3400.

As or me, I found my first one in Oak Hill, WV; bought it and drove it back to Claremont non-stop.
My second (present) one was on a lot in Hickory. I took a '66 Chevelle that my sons had worn out up there and traded for the truck dead even.

Someone's front yard for my '81 Cherokee. Craigslist for my '79 Wagoneer. This site for my current driver '79 Cherokee. And someone's side yard for the '79 Cherokee my wife and I picked up yesterday.

Found a '90 GW an hour away on Auto Trader in about 2000. I don't remember craigs being much of a thing yet.

Then a guy walked up to my wife after parking the GW at the post office and asked if she wanted a parts truck. I called him and he gave me a '87 GW that had just blown the trans out on the interstate. I had to pay a tow bill, and bought him a couple adult beverages, of course. Towed it about 60 miles home with my GW. The next morning my wife was driving the GW to work and a fan blade went through the radiator, so the parts truck came in handy right away.

First saw the '89 GW I have now about 10 years ago during a local wrench-a-thon/meetup organized through this site. Later I went to look at ruff '63 or 4 Wag the guy had for sale and found out he was selling the '89 for a decent price, and it was nicer than my '90.

Sold the '90 right here.

Saw an ad in Craigslist, called the guy and begged him not to answer the phone again until I got down there. '91 Final Edition Hunter green sitting in his yard, where it had been for 5 years....

Saw mine on another forum, fell for it and emailed the guy to see if he still had it and if it was for sale. He did and it was, so I ended up with it. Pretty body, no rust, but the interior is used up and if it has fluids, it leaks!! Must be a whole tube of silicone squeezing out of the transfer case...! Robin

My dad found my j10 on the used lot at our local ford dealership in 1992. A lot of first with this truck. I'm thankful I kept it all these years.

Spent about three months searching Craigslist after my last 4x4 caught fire and burnt to the ground. Go figure, it was the only non-Jeep I've ever owned.

I was looking for a TJ and got talking to my neighbor. His brother in MI was selling a 1988 GW for $4500. All original and garage kept. No winter driving, no rust. I'm the 3rd or 4th owner.

Flew up to South Bend and drove it back to FL. Just need to get the A/C working and I'll be good!

Just picked mine up yesterday. I have it tucked safely in the garage.
Wish I had looked at the tire date before driving it home. The tread was great and I didn't think about the age at that point... the tires are 16 years old! Glad I didn't have a blow out.

So what do you suggest?
BFG AT 30x9.50 on stock r15 no lift
or
Michelin MS2 235 75 r15 no lift
or
track down the white walls

This is a daily driver. My first reaction is the Michelin because I have them on every SUV I own... The White wall is OEM look, but the BFG gives it more size and helps the jeep sit about 1" higher.

Thoughts? It's a DD and off road use will be dirt roads to camp sites or the occasional ride in sand. No trails for this gem.

I found my FC170, 86 & 88 FSJ's on eBay. All three came from California. I always make sure to buy them West of the Mississippi because of rust issues
