sure do, hey i have a question for you seasoned buyers and sellers, the guy is asking 650$ for the truck, but it needs a bunch of work, namely it doesnt have a front bumper, and he says it feels like you foots o the brakes when you drive it down the road, i am going to look at it next weekend, the drivers side door needs replaced too, aparently it has a gash in it and the window wont roll down. He said He's going to cut it in half and use it as a trailor if nobody buys it, what should I offer him?

Welcome. If you plan on swapping/upgrading the axles, motor etc you won't need it but if you plan to keep it pretty much stock get the factory shop manual for it. The early era first series rigs(62-early 65) have some pretty old timey brakes, steering etc and the manual is well worth the money. You can get a good reprint of the early manual from Turners for about $40.

Welcome to the Madness of FSJ! Door should not be hard to find. Looks like some RF fender damage too? If you really want it and it runs and stops, I'd start my offer about half of what he is asking.

Later gladiators are much easier to deal with (no Ross steering) or funky brake parts, 230 is substituted by much more robust motors and transmissions get a lot more robust as well. Very early FSJ's are an aquired taste. I would *hate* to see that turned into a trailer

The gash in the door can be fixed without replacing it, and most of the dents I see can be easily banged out with a hammer and dolly.

It is worth $650 to me.But I have been known to buy some odd stuff

Welcome to the insanity. I'd offer $300.00 and go from there.

Yea, just a bit of AZ comparison.
This is when I bought it for the price of a TH400-D20 adapter, worth about $180.00 back in '03.

This is pretty much it's current state (read that as unfinished)

It's probably going to a new home and I doubt it fetches $1,250.00
Even with all the mod's and parts I just do not think it will happen.

I think you should keep looking.
Although not real common these things are by no means rare out in the southwest.

i think I'll go for the consensus and offer him 300 and go from there, is the truck you posted pictures of for sale in az right now tadsal? I've got a buddy of mine who might be interested, he's trying to decide what he wants to do with his '93 Grand Cherokee Laredo.

anyway, its more at this point that I don't want to see it turned into a trailor. but I woulden't mind driving it either.

Trent,
I have not put it up for sale yet, but the impending divorce, sale of 2 properties, relocation and storage, makes it seem pretty sad, yet necessary it will have to happen.
It would take me a weekend or so to do all the pic's, list all the mods, and the list of parts is quite lengthy. I really do not want to do this, but I most likely have no choice (such is the life of a FSJeeper).
A short breakdown would be.
1972 J2000
Buick 350 - TH400 (rebuilt tranny never run, 4V intake in storage w/QJet) - D20 (2 of those).
14-Bolt rear axle (3.73 open).
SOA HD44 front axle (3.73 open).
Pristine '66 dash (in storage, all chrome intact).
Cowl and floor repaired (welded, no scab crap).
Old Style in dash AC in good condition (in storage)
2 sets of tires, 37x12.5x16.5 MTR's (used) on AL Slots and 36x12.5x16.5 on Stock GM rims (H1's, used).
It's a project rig, but I would be happy to do pic's and get it all outlined for your friend.
I teach High School and will be slamed until after Memorial Day.

Looks like you and RustBullet would be good friends real quick!
