Has anyone found a Voltmeter that will fit into the cluster space in the 73-85 FSJ where the stock ammeter goes? There is just no decent place to put an add-on voltmeter on the FSJ with airconditioning. Any ideas?

Mark

I have a trans temp gauge and oil press gauge attached to the bottom of the AC, just below the control knobs (mine is an 81. They are paired, and angled toward the driver. Look great!

I'm in the same club with Cliff, I've got oil pressure & voltmeter there for now, more gauges to come. Seemed to be the only viable place until I scrounge up enough to splurge on a console from Z&M Jeeps along with all the gauges.

Maybe the good Dr. of Jeepology will chime in here but in all my travels across ebay, google, altavista, 4x4 msg boards I haven't seen anything that would fit that location and I can't see much of a demand for it.

Maybe that carpet bagger over at grandwagoneers.com has something but if he does plan on forking over a good chunk of change for it.

Good Luck

I found a couple of places that will rebuild the existing ammeter into a volt meter, but it's way too expensive for me. If you want links I can supply them.

This seems to be standard stuff for street rods. I got a quote from the first link and just couldn't justify the price.

If you find a good solution share it with us. I still think this is the best solution

I sent the first link a sample ammeter and after he looked at it he guessed about $160. Didn't actually communicate with the other vendor. Maybe we could get a "special" deal for a small quantity?

Depending on cost, I would be in.
