Super Wagoneer console fabricated part

Well, I got tired of trying to find an un-broken Super Wagoneer center console armrest base. So, I had a good friend of mine who is a fabricator make one out of 18 ga. steel. We started out by making templates from an original. The pieces were then carefully welded together to make a correct reproduction. The armrest base stays true to the original design with the same lines and dimensions. I now have my upholstery guy making me a new armrest so once I restore the console I'll have a completely new set up. Let me know what you guys think.

Ok, I'm not sure why you can't view the photos. Can anyone advise how to make the photobucket album non-private?

Looks great. I'd have bought one back when I had a super console.

OK looks great. The original plastic or fiberglass was questionable in strength anyway.

Also these are painted and not true color through. I cleaned and prepped mine with TSP and water, then used SEM plastic prep spray paint, then SEM plastic trim paint Satin Black. Looked as new when done.

Also removed and replaced the wood trim stickers with similar. Have an extra piece or two if you need some. Basically the same as waggy side trim.

Nice work! Beats the heck out of the plastic original. That interior is looking very sharp.

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

Addicted,

Those pictures were taken yesterday. I just wish I could figure out how to change the date on my wifes camera. Here are a couple more pics.
