Mecum auction - 1968 Wagoneer

I've followed the notable auctions for many years now and have never seen an early year Wagoneer come up for auction.

It will be interesting.

Here's the link / listing to the Mecum website:

Yep, saw that. They changes out the plates to a "Mecum plate".

There's no way this will get close to $22,000.

How is this ONLY 22K? It does not get much better then a 1 owner car with 28K. Love the warn sticker just slapped on there by a tech, and the turn signal lenses are perfect!

I saw a mediocre 87/88 Grand Wag sell for 15K with the wrong woodgrain and brand new paint.

$22,500 was what it sold for - I guess I was wrong when I said it wouldn't get close to $22,000.

I did not think this truck would have gotten any where close to $22K and I was wrong too.

Wayne Carini from the tv program chasing classic cars was the winning bidder $20,500.00 he also purchased a Commando for $23000.00.
http://www.mecum.com/auctions/FL0112...d=012612160017
He stated he would probably resell the wagoneer near his shop in this home state up in the NE like CT maybe

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

Yeah I noticed that also. The brake pedal is the small "half pedal" like you would see with a manual transmission. I wonder if it was converted.

I think thats the standard pedal for non-power brakes.

My old 68 Wag with an auto had the wide pedal with manual brakes, but I can see Jeep using the small pedal on it. Everything else looks good for being a stock automatic rig.

It has a replacement floor covering in it.

Yeah everything else looks as if it was a stock auto. My dad's friend had a '68 that was almost identical to this one and it had the wide pedal on it as well. I'm not sure if his had the manual brakes or not.

Looks stock to me also
If it helps i found three ref for the pedal in the parts catalog between 65 and 72 : less power brakes, with power brakes and manual, with power brakes and auto
edited : the ref for the pedal cover is the same for the last two cases, so i guess as joe that the size difference is between without power brakes and with power brakes for those years range
