Body (un) Lift & Transfer Case question

Okay, one last question re: my body lift removal.

Chris lifted it 3" with BJ's mounts and had to fab a new linkage for the flag shifter (NP208). This is the piece of flat steel between the lever and the transfer case. The pivot point on his fabbed piece is not equidistant between the hole for the transfer case side and the lever side, and I need to figure out where it would be on my new 1" lift linkage. Should I drill my new hole an equal distance from the bottom hole, or somewhere else? I hope I'm making sense here... I am referring to the uppermost hole on 18.695-1 in the below pic.
