Crossover steering question

I have a question for those people who have done a BJ's crossover steering. I am questioning how much of the threads from the draglink were you able to "capture" with the double threaded draglink part? You know what I'm talking about it's the 6" long double threaded thing with the two bolts/nuts that keep everything together. I have mine set up but am questioning the amount of threads I have captured. Strange thing is, my steering wheel is reasonably correct and steers down the road pretty good but I didn't capture much of the threads on both draglink ends.
Just curious if anyone else has had this problem.

Thanks
Alan
