one question to the aircleaner TAC system:
the 79TSM said on page 1J-44....

...as the temp of the incoming air approaches 90 degree (32C) the temperatur switch vents vacuum to atmosphere..... valve in off position...

This makes no sence for me.
We have not often temps over 32C and i have bought this aircleaner and the duct to get colder air in the carburetor as from the engine bay!
I have checked both vac motors (the TAC and the EVAC) with a vacuum pump and they work.
while the first start and warming up today the TAC stayed closed - logical

I dont want to disconnect now the motor .
Any tip to get the TAC want open the intake valve at about 15 or 20 Celsius?

The 90* air temp they are referring to is not ambient outside air, but air coming up from the exhaust manifold heater box thru the 2" hot air hose into the air cleaner. IF the thermal sensors and the vacuum motors are working correctly they will open the air valve in the snorkel and allow cooler outside air into the carb once the engine warms up. Theoretically. The 90* temp (thermal sensor) is not adjustable.
Mine was not working, got tired of screwing around with it. Disconnected the vacuum hose from the manifold (plug the hose) that goes to the back of the air cleaner. Then the air valve in the snorkel stays open all the time. No problems starting even in cold weather.
I quit worrying about it.
Hope this helps you.

is it correct that the headlight dimmer switch is mounted in the footwell very left, nearly behind the parking brake pedal??
mine has here 2 plastic threads in the sheet.

But the previous owner makes 2 new holes about 2 inches right of it for better service / place for the foot..

Yep. Mine is right up against the kick panel. I never thought of moving it to a more convienient spot but if I were to move it, I would probably move it to the spot your previous owner moved yours.

gauges after warming the engine in garage.
oil pressure near 30 with the new autometer mechanical gauge.
back to zero with the original gauge.

After starting with cold engine the mechanical gauge was near 60, with a litte accelerating a little over 60!
original gauge was at

idle about 14,2 to 14,4 AFR (a little lean for warming up?)
17 degrees celcius outdoor temp.

Yessssss.... new pics.
Dash looks really nice with the radio in place! Interesting, you have a Wagoneer dash. Cherokee Chiefs usually did not get the wood grain you have and the dash pad usually does not wrap down the front of the passenger seat. Hm. Maybe that was an export change they had to make?

Pay no attention to your factory gauge. They are slightly better than useless. If your autometer mechanical gauge says 30, that is amazingly good. even if you Autometer is 50% incorrect and your real value is 15psi, you are still golden! Your cold values are normal to very good. Nice job on your engine work this winter!!!!

Yeah, maybe a little lean for warm up but if it is starting/running just fine when cold and running well when warm, I wouldn't mess with it. Anyone else (carb smart people) agree?

Here are my thoughts on things like this:
1) If it is working, don't mess with it.
2) If something is not working, focus on the one thing that is not working and make it work.
3) Ugly wiring may be ugly but working ugly wiring is better than really pretty wiring that does not work.

With that said, Do you want to use your seat belt timer? I think all it does is turn on the seat belt light for a few seconds when you turn on your truck. I wouldn't mess with it right now, myself (unless the seatbelt light is always on).

Does your heater work? If it does not and you want it to, focus on fixing that. Do you have a defogger in your back window? If not, I would not mess with the switch for now.

I chose a SkyJacker stabilizer, they are all good. Just make sure that it is HD type / 5/8" rod. I put their 7000 series shocks on my Commando.
I put Bilsteins shocks on my Wagoneer, WOW what an improvement! Could not find a Bilstein stabilizer listed for it or I would have got one.
By the way, I am partial to the color you chose for your Cherokee. Looks really great.

SOOOooooooo.... My steering damper was completely useless when I bought my truck. It felt like a screw driver jammed into a soda can. I bought a Monroe steering damper and thought it would make a huge difference compared to the scrap metal that was bolted on when I bought mine. My new damper made no perceivable difference at all.

All that to say, I don't think the difference between a really good damper and a really cheap damper is going to be noticeable. I would just try to find one that fits and has a decent warranty.

Skyjacker #9005 is the stabilizer I bought. Although I suspect all three of their models my be same internally, same price, just different paint colors to match their shocks as a matching set.
Yes, that one does look generic.
Can not help with the alternator, sorry.

Alternator works.
by reason of dismounting the ignition module and some wires i have forgotten the wire to S port of the regulator.(ignition switch)

(Had no wire diagramm for that regulator.)

no it works and i have about 14,5 V

Sorry for that stupid post...
