I want to see wagoneers with 40"+ tires

I got a lifted wagoneer right now with 35" tires and I think I need to go a little bigger. Im making the wagoneer into an expedition vehicle.

With a purpose built "expedition" rig I assume you'll be in some pretty remote areas? In that case I would limit the amount of any exotics and don't go with any bigger tires than you "need". Stick with replacement parts you have a remote chance of obtaining in Moose Sweat, WhereEver. Airfreight into the bush can be a real budget buster.

I have been looking at military tires. I don't plan on going to remote yet but I do want to be able to cross rivers/rocks. I want it to be my go anywhere camping .

You can see one on 44" DC in Iceland in this video:

It starts at around 5 minutes in.

JP magazine ran a "feature +" article in their April 2014 issue. It had 39x13.5x17 BFG Krawlers. Also a Cummins-converted Woody GWag with 1-ton axles and longer wheelbase (112.5"). It looked suitably mean. Not much rear suspension compression clearance judging by the pics...2-3" before rear tire eats fender. Maybe 5-6" in front. Wags are bad for this.

I've got 37" bfgs off of a humvee on mine with one ton rears, 64" rear springs off a 88-98 chevy 1/2 ton pickup and is stretched 5". I would strongly suggest to upgrade the D44's if your set on going bigger then 35"s. My $0.02

Here's a few pictures of my turd

I'm putting a 14 bolt in the rear and a 44 up front for now till it breaks. They both have disc brakes and are wide track. Not to many 15" rims fit now. I doing a few other custom things so a little bigger tire would fit. I haven't seen jp mags article yet.
