88 GW 5.9 Engine Block Heater Leak

Per the title I've got a coolant leak, appears to be entirely coming from the engine block heater. It has a hex fitting in the center, I was able to tighten this maybe 1/8 turn but it's still got a few drops this morning. I take it this is just pressed into the freeze plug hole, right? Remove, clean, replace?

Possibly dumb question; for a short while would it be dumb to deal with rtv? Just on the outside until I can properly swap it.

5.9's came with an engine block heater? Is that aftermarket? Would love to see a picture.

I have a similar one on the 85, and yes it was dripping 20 years ago... I was told to smack it with a punch and it would dislodge... nahhhh, did not happened...

I poured some coolant leak repair powder... and yes, the coolant temp was a bit higher, I drove it for about a month, then drained a bit of coolant, may be a few quarts... temp was still a bit high and drained another few quarts... and the leak never came back...

Of course in 20 years I replaced the water pump, drained the coolant a few times... still leak free
