Glad your OK. Love the old ford, we have 3 of the same vintage. These models will be running after the apocalypse...

That Tractor is a Beaut! It has required nothing more then regular maintenance over the years.

I guess wrenching on Ramcharger 2.0 is good to help pass time waiting on your engine. That dude should hook you up for taking so long.
It definitely does, and I hope so as well.

Thanks for asking, things are going well actually.
I literally got the call today that the engine is ready to be picked up from the machine shop!!
And the Ramcharger 2.0 should be ready to drive this weekend.
Making really good progress on the Ramcharger but nothing new on the Wagoneer since I hadnt got the engine back.
Update on the Wagoneer coming late this week or early next
Ramcharger update, engine is in, and running (I will try to post the video of the first start with open headers ) and it got new wheels and tires as well as a lift. Lift and tires below.

Holy crap, I’m glad you are ok. Also glad you got another ram charger. they’re not Jeep’s, but still really awesome for sure. Had a accident kinda like this in a forerunner, had new tires but a aluminum rim came apart in a corner. Hit a ditch bank and did a front flip back into the road. Very thankful for Toyota engineers. On the Passenger side the roof was touching the top of the seat. Walked away with a few scratches on my hand, and a huge adrenaline dump. Hope you get everything swapped soon.
Thanks jeepjseries, glad you made it out of the crash as well.
Not sure I can get the video to work.

Its finally happening ladies and gentlemen!
I brought home the 401 from the machine shop 6/25/2021, exactly a year and 1 day from when I dropped it off.
I got the block on the engine stand, and unloaded all the parts. I bought a master rebuild kit from the machine shop (surprisingly it was cheaper through them then I could get it all for).
Got my doctors table all set up with the tools I knew I would need to start on this, along with the bible and torque wrench, plus a notebook.

I then immediately found a problem in step #1.
Install the crank bearings, the thrust bearing does not have the tang that holds it from spinning, on either half, both halves have a hole in them instead of just 1, and they do not match the old set that I had.
Will be calling the machine shop this week to try and get it resolved quickly

My old set has tangs in both top and bottom, and a oil passage only in the top.
It is possible I got two tops, and really only one needs the tang I guess.
Its either the Chilton or Haynes manual I cant remember. Not actually saying these are the best for these rigs but its what I have.
