ford hp dana 60(80+) in an 8?wag.

anyone running a ford d60 with the 36" perch width?
how did you bring it into the 31.5" width?

i know the passenger side i can weld another perch on to move it in. what was done with the pumpkin side, since the perch is part of the center section casting?

You cant bring it in. Have to outboard your leaf springs or run coil springs or coilovers.

I couldn't come up with anything when I looked at one locally besides outboarding the springs for staying with leaf springs, it's not like you want to move that perch onto the pig.
Putting it on coils and linking it would work, just was not something I wanted to get into at that time.

Depending on what you plan on using for a rear axle there is always the option of shortening the long side 4.5" and moving the spring perch to match. That would leave your front WMS to WMS around 64.5"

You could basically build a 78/79 axle (shorten the long, lengthen the short and use 78/79 inner shafts). Shortening just the long side would require a custom shaft.

If you outboarded the front and inboarded the rear what would it wheel like? Real flexable in the rear and stable in the front?

dont know! i want to try and use this wag as a tow rig,so inboarding the rear wouldnt do much good for this purpose.

You could probably just sell the 80's axle and pick up the more desirable 78-79 axle for no loss. Anything D44 and up is wildly overpriced in my area, so your results my vary.

The front part of the frame is narrower than the rear. So out boarding the front and in boarding the rear will most likely make them close to the width width.
