Summit carburetor

Just wanted to share. I have a 1978 wagoneer with 401. Could never get the motorcraft 4bbl to work well. Even after rebuild it did not start well, did not run well and if it sat for more than a few days I had to prime it. Ordered a summit brand 4 bbl. which looks like an update of the old autolite carb from the 60,s. I always liked those on street cars because they were reliable and easy to tune.Totally happy with the new carb.starts great even after weeks of sitting. Runs good. I am not a rock crawler so can not speak about extreme angles, but on normal 4 wheeling trails it works fine. Price is great , would reccomend

That is awesome!

Do you have the specifics on the one you ordered? PN?

Thanks for sharing!

I did have to get an adapter to fit the weird intake pattern on the 1978 intake manifold also

This is encouraging news for the 4350 owners. I gave up on them 11 years ago. Man, those adapters doubled in price in 10 years.

Good to get some feedback on this carb. I did some research to see if they had a Spring loaded needle kit or float spring. It doesnt look like theres any off road tuning support--not yet.
