My Jeep in its former life

I inherited my Cherokee from my uncle, who inherited it from his dad (my grandfather). My grandpa was into trailering. I don't know which trip this is from, but I think it might be when he trailered from California to Alaska and back. Mid-80s, I think.

1979 Cherokee Chief S, 360, TFI, Part-time conversion, rust

If you go lookin' for rust, you'll find it.

Always cool to have pictures from the past, especially with your jeep and knowing the history!

When I had bought my 73 j-4000 from California in 2003
I found a business card from the former owner and wrote him a letter.
Did get some pictures and stories of the jeep in return.
We later had some good conversation by email.
Jeep "because mother nature hates flat roads to"

99' Dodge ram 2500 4x4 crew cab 5.9 Cummins ,backup work truck for now
73' Jeep J4000 (named Heep or Desert Dragon) amc 360 V8 converted to LPG with T15/D20 (was my daily work truck for thirteen years and is going to have major overhaul
80' Jeep cj5 350 V8 Chevy/ms420/D300 (a slow ongoing never finished project)

Trucks/car's from the past:
85' Volkswagen caddy mk1 1.6 diesel.
83 Toyota land cruiser BJ42 3.4 diesel.

Love everything I see in that pic. awesome snapshot. I can tell there are a lot of sensible mods on that truck, just from this pics. Those Hurricane rims were on a dream build list i made back in high school too. Thanks for sharing.

Neat photo! We just inherited a '92 XJ Cherokee my father-in-law ordered new. I don't think he did anything as interesting with it, but he kept it nice and we definitely appreciate keeping an interesting vehicle in the family.

89 Grand Wagoneer: White/Cordovan. Factory tow package. Gradually undoing PO's mods - it seemed like a nice build at the time.

Thanks for sharing your Jeep legacy. Your family has obviously kept the Cherokee up nice. Ride On.
