    Non fsj electrical question

I have a 2015 Jeep Renegade that the left front fog light went out. There is no current coming to the positive side of the bulb. So I thought I could just go a foot above that light to the parking that operates off the same switch and bring 12 volts down to it but that didn't work. When you turn the switch on the fog light flashes twice and then the whole circuit goes down for a few minutes and resets? So does this circuit have some kind of way of knowing what the proper current draw should be and just shuts down when it's overloaded question mark?

Yes, the vehicle canbus modules control lighting and if there is an issue with circuits wiring a code will be present.
Need to scan it with a scanner that can read all canbus modules for codes.
