Tube Doors, Half Doors, No Doors... What About Weather?

As I contemplate a set of tube doors for the ChopTop, I'm wondering about keeping the weather out. My goal is to make the vehicle as waterproof as possible (in that I can spray it out with a pressure washer without killing the electronics, etc). I also have inside storage for it.

For those of you with half doors, no doors or tube doors... is it a PITA when it rains? Do you regret losing the windows?

Usually if it rains while wheelin around here in texas, its more welcome than not! But winter wheelin, id just wear a rain jacket, or get some clear vinyl an put snaps into it and have a removeable window

Change all your gauges and electronics to marine grade. Boat vinyl for seats helps too. Strip the carpet and truck bed line it. Your steering column should be ok.

Remember-Water+electrical=usually ok, water+electronics=bad. Unless you plan on dunking too, keep the electronic stuff up under the dash if possible or use ammo boxes with siliconed leads.

Driving in rain? If it's summer, just swimtrunks (or bikinis ) and sandles.

The plan is to bedline the entire interior. It's hot and humid enough here that our sweat should keep the floors washed clean.

Seriously, the biggest issue here is trying to get enough air flow through the cabin to stay somewhat comfortable. It was suggested in another thread to make plastic snap in windows for rain and I'm wondering if most do that or just deal with it.

It's not bad at all in the rain. You might get wet.

WhyIoughtta...

Thanks for the feedback, we can live with getting wet during a rain storm.

I just didn't want to have a tube door only rig and find out later that was a dumb idea.
