Input bearing retainer question

I need to lengthen the throwout bearing slide on my input bearing retainer. This seems to be a cast peice so I'm not sure if it can be done or not. Does anyone know if this is do-able?

You mean like this? This one was extended by welding a iron sleeve of similar size then milled smooth. I had this done by a local machine shop and was charged 80.00 for it . I have never run it so I don't know how strong it is, also this is for a t98 and I have a t18 so I'm not even sure if it will even work for my application.

I've also seen a sleeve made, and the retainer turned down to accept the sleeve. The sleeve would extend further than the original retainer, and was held on by a collar and set screw at the back end.

Tardyboy that's exactly what I am looking to do. I need to add about an inch to the end of the one I've got. Cool

Thanks guys.

Are you missing the original one, or did you swap in a longer input? Call six states and ask them what they can get. Dennis
