Stuck Dash

hello again

Had a few hours today so started tearing apart the dash and wiring. Got the Gauge Cluster, all the wiring and all the little things out (switches, ashtray, clock etc) BUT after taking out the side bolts for the dash it seemed to not want to come out.

So here come the questions:

are there a set of bolts / screws that I am not seeing in the middle of the dash somewhere?

is it necessary to take the dash pad off before removing the metal dash?

I guess it comes down to asking for any information that is available on taking out the dash!!!

any help is appreciated and thanks in advance

There is usually a bolt behind the steering column also, where you have to drop the steering column to get to it. You will have to remove the windshield to get to the bolts under the windshield gasket.

yep you have to pull the windsheild to get the dash out. i did this on a 77 j truck and i had to drill out a couple of the bolts because of rust.

Thanks for the quick responses. Thats kind of what I was starting to think Really wanted to get the dash out today and get some design work done on it while the Jeep is still covered in snow. Will have to talk to some glass folks tomorrow.
