lowering rear window

is there a way to lower the rear window from the electric tailgate. I need parts from the tailgate but unable to lower the window to get the gate down. this is at the junkyard so unable to get power to window. thanks for the help

you can remove the access panel from the tailgate and unplug the 2 wire connector at the motor. you can use a 12 or 14 volt battery from a cordless drill to power the motor up or down.

never thought about doing that. that batt from a hand drill is enough to power it?

12 volt will do it, 14 will be faster. They will do it and quite a few times too.

I am thinking that you have two wires coming from the electric motor, one for UP and one for DOWN. You will need to hook the neg wire from the battery to a good ground[motor or motor bracket or some where close] and pos wire to either wire on the motor.

If powering the motor does not work then you can remove the clips from the regulator which attaches to the bottom of the window. There is one clip per side and they just pop right off. Good Luck.

You could use a automatic center punch on the window
