Your post on 6/26 says you dropped it off then. Lets say you get it on 11/3 (hopefully you can pick it up before the riots start....errrr I mean the election is done), that's about what I waited for mine the first time, too. Considering you were having yours done during COVID, that's not bad. All the shops I called last month said they were slammed. All of them. So considering that, you're right on schedule!

Anyway, it's gonna be great to get it home! CLEAN everything 3 times, then once more before you put it together. Even if the shop "cleaned" it, clean it again.

      Well heres finally an update.
Got a call from the machine shop yesterday, the Block is done!

BUT, my connecting rods are so far out of true that they are not willing to machine them.

I am not on the hunt for new 401 connecting rods

If anyone has any or knows where to buy them I would greatly appreciate it.
I will be digging into the google tomorrow.

Thanks to anyone who is patiently reading my thread, unfortunately I can't work on anything else until I put the engine together because I have limited garage space.

PO swapped in a 360, soon to be a 401 again!
      "Soon" is a relative term.
Cracked cylinder put a hurt on me + bad connecting rods.

Because I'm a firm believer in pictures with posts here is a minty one

I just bought this about a month ago, sold my V12 Mercedes and got this greasy pile of goodness and have not been disappointed yet!

Nice! I love the Ramchargers. 1984? Kinda hard to tell the year. Sorry to hear about the engine problems.
1974 Cherokee S. It's driving but needs more work. As usual!

Darn close shes a 1985, but I think that grill option ran a couple years. I have always like the two door SUVs like these, Ramcharger, K5 Blazer, and some of the Broncos. So I finally got my hands on one.
Only issue I've had and seems like everyone has is the 80s Dodge wiring is a mess.

No worries on the engine, its better we find it all now. Rather then have it blow itself apart running it how it was.
My machinist said whoever did the previous work was just very heavy handed with all the work and took off way more then needed.

I had an '84 back in the day. That 318 had a whopping 120hp I believe. The wiring is a nightmare. Is the computer attached to the air cleaner? Lol.

                I like the ramcharger

                nice color combo.

better than anything on the new lot these days.

THE RAMCHARGER I REALLY LIKE IS THE CANYON SPORT

                  You should look up: amcperformance.com

This is what I found on his website. I think he is in Vancouver, Washington or somewhere close in SW Washington.

Thanks for the replies everybody! Didnt get my notifications or I would have replied sooner.

Only problems I have had from the Ramcharger are wiring based, but Ive nearly fixed all that. Thanks again!

78 Widetrack I will check out the website you mentioned, Thanks!

That is a sweet Ramcharger! It looks to be in super shape. They don't make them like they used to. The engine wait will be worth it. The engine builder I have used is slow as molasses, but both engines just purr. Enjoy the assembly!
                          And take pictures.

Update, I got new to me connecting rods from AMC-Performance.com. Dan was great and had several sets at a good price.
I delivered them to the machine shop Monday, hoping he got to work on them yesterday.
                            Will call today!

Good golly its been another month!

Just dropped off the rest of my rotating assembly for balance on Monday.
Was hoping I'd hear from them before now, but as usual I will call them between 2-1000 times a day until I hear from them a week later

Apologies that the only update I have is a complaint

I guess that is more time to clean and prep the engine bay and order install parts/supplies.
