I wish that Edelbrock would have done a better job so that we didn't have to grind on them to be better...

I won't use a after market timing cover unless I have to. You are better off using a used one. Why did you change it out?
Also, did you correct the oil passages through the new timing set?

Those specs look about right. 1.800" installed height and around 100# on the seat. I think the lighter ones may have been around 80# on the seat.

I guess the main reasons I eliminate the rotocaps is because the early engines didn't have them and because it is harder to find the shorter springs.
Also, there is less of a problem with coil bind...
