Don't know if you already have the drums and brake shoes , but maybe another option is to look for dodge ram or Ford rear brake backing plates and drums with parts from a 8 lug axle.

There are some digital ones on ebay for the full size Jeeps.
Or you can use a analog clock from a Volvo 440 or in that type range.
It exactly fits the original...

And about the headliner , you could use hardboard for new material.
Other have used some marker or hard foam sandwich plate.

Well ,got to Rotterdam harbour for some packages from the US and also picked up the jeep roof.

You could convert it to a switch that's on the brake pedal near the firewall.
The later jeep cj 5 and 7 did have a adjustable switch on a metal bracket , it's not difficult to duplicate!
