It is going in the Hornet race car that I showed on page 1. He has a remote oil filter system that he mounted in in front rather than on a fender well or some other place.

Peak Torque is 586 at about 4400 rpm.
Peak HP is 652 at about 6500 rpm.
This is the final pull to back up pull 21.

Any idea when the torque curve hit 500+?

      That is very impressive!!!

I really don't. Obviously with a race engine we were just trying to tune it and find where the peak horsepower was going to be. Honestly, we were hoping for it to peak closer to 7000 rpm and along with that a little more horsepower.
We used the Torker intake that he had but I wish we could have swapped it out for a Victor Jr. or a Indy intake. Fun stuff nonetheless.

I really want to get these two projects finished this year. Thanks to my buddy Bruce who helped me with the 1969 Mod Javelin in the Big Bad Orange paint, we have just a couple more things to it and it will be done. Long story short, I painted the car in 1989 and in 1990 or 1991 the owner pulled the engine to detail the engine bay. Fast forward to 2015 and the fellow has passed away and his Nephew owns the car and it hasn't moved since 1990. He contacted me and asked me to get it roadworthy again. So with some help from my friends we have it on the road again sporting a rebuilt engine, trans, all new brakes, and the list goes on.

It sat in this garage in Toledo with no climate control from 1990 to 2015 when I drug it out. I am amazed at how well it looks after all those years. I am also amazed that it didn't get stolen.

This picture reminds me that the car behind Bob's Javelin is one of two 1969 AMX Hurts Rent-A-Cars. The last I knew it went to Chicago somewhere.

Yep the plan is to finish up the projects for everyone else before I start on my own. However, I did just hit the buy it now button for EFI that will go on my 397.

Rick, I found a couple ol Rambler hub caps in my shop while looking for other stuff.. Even a tilt column/wheel and console if I remember correctly. Med Blue.
If you want to see them, let me know.

                        Looks nice.

Well, we replaced the Torker intake manifold with a Indy brand, re-degreed the cam, and added a vacuum pump and went for another tuning round which netted 681 HP at around 7000 rpm but he still wanted to be closer to 700. Still not bad for a 418 cubic inch engine. Last try will be adding 1.7 rocker arms. Sorry, I didn't get any video or copies of the curves.

7-17-21. Here is the last pull after these changes.
Degreed the cm to 106 Intake
New port matched Indy Intake Manifold
                          Vacuum Pump
1.721 Rocker Arms on the Intake.

Finally got this project done and ready to leave!
                            1989 when I painted it.
IMG_4572 by Rick Jones, on Flickr
Today in the same spot that it was in 1989.

                            The To-Do List:
                            97. SC397: 360 bored and stroked to 397. At the Machine Shop.
                            105. DR360: For a 1985 Wagoneer. Slated for EFI At the Machine Shop
                            107. Comando360: For Javtwotone. Ready to assemble.
                            108. Marlin327Kit: Going to Germany. Crank at the machine shop.
110: 343/360 stroker kit: going to Isle of Man England. Back from the machine shop.
                            111. Alex401: Jeep Wagoneer slated for EFI
                            112. Repsolroger390: '69 390 Eddy Heads
I got slowed down this year due to battling Prostrate Cancer. I went the Hormone, a daily dose of Radiation for 5 weeks, and Radioactive Seed rout rather than surgery. So far so good. My PSA started out at 8.9 a year ago and it is now less than .01. I get winded pretty easy but things are improving. I still have a lot of work to do on the Breedlove car. Once I get this stuff done, I want to work on my own toys for a while.

I will be adding this one to my Stable this week end.
1970 AMX 360 4-speed. One of 836 built with this engine and trans combo.
AMC built a total of 4,116 AMX's in 1970 making it the last year for the 2-seater. Needs a lot of body work but is turn key and ready to drive.
