    So new to posting here, 63 J3500 , 62 Wagoneer

    Hey guys I just felt like introducing myself, my names Aaron and I'm 23 and have I think ended up starting to collect these fsjs , I do not know a whole lot about mechanics but started working on this 63 J3500 from what I could tell it has a 327 amc and runs and drives fairly well with 60k original miles and being in the family for a good while.

    Lol let's just say I got it delivered for a fair price. Any info or just things to know would be helpful will be making a build post eventually, both the wag and glad have 327 amcs from what I can tell.
    Also do the wagoneers usually have willys tags? I havn't decoded that vin yet.
    Here are a couple more photos of both of them I belive the wagoneer us a 62? Was a manual and swapped to auto. Sorry for the links couldn't find a way to actually get the host website to url to this lol.

    SUPER cool finds! Wow! THe rims on your Wago look like Golden Eagle rims. The finish on your Glad is PERFECT!! What a cool truck! i really like the mirrors you put on there, too. The front bumper on the wago looks like its ready to run some zombies over!

    What did you do with the original rims/tires that were on the Glad? Did you sell/trash/give away/or hold on to them?

      They are all still at my ranch in the bed of the truck. Not sure if I have all 4 original cause I know my cousin swapped one like 15 years ago.
      Yeah gladiator I got for free and the wag cost me $1000

        They look pretty cool--great to see more Kaiser Jeeps around

        Interesting that you're leaning towards the first year on them; the 327 didn't come out until '65...(not trying to be rude or question your knowledge--they're Jeeps so weird stuff happens to them, and I'm just going off what the stuff I've read indicates).

          Honestly have no idea what's supposed to be in this or even what year it's from the gladiator just happen to fall into my lap hahaha and the wag I really just like the body and the front grill hahahah was gonna swap the wags engine to either a 350 or a ls

            That are some good and cool looking jeeps you have there!

            I thought that I got my 71' j4000 cheap , but a free jeep is something we can only dream about!

            My father had a 64' ifs jeep wagoneer that original had a tornado engine with three on the three.

                    Will be making a build thread soon should I do both in one or 2 separate? I think the gladiator will end up being mostly stock or kinda lol

                      I say together, as I have an '84 FSJ here, and an '81 CJ5, so bouncing between separate sites to keep up with both.

                      Yours are both FSJ, but really up to you

                          Nice to see the next generation keeping these rigs alive and going! There's alot of knowledge here for the old kaiser-era trucks and wagons. Don't forget to check out the tech library and the archive section of the forums.

                          Looks like '65 was the first year, but no telling if an engine swap occurred during that 62's life, although you did say it was in the family for awhile.

                          Anyway, working on old cars is an adventure..... working on old jeeps can be an epic adventure! Never assume anything, and never assume that what is there is what is /was supposed to be there.

                          Have fun - and drive them!!!

                            WHAT?! You're telling me that the open knuckle D44, 6x5.5 rims, diff fluid temp sending unit, Pertronix, Edelbrock 1406, and mid '70s Buick 350 (that's no longer in it) weren't there from the factory? And the Bosch gauges under the dash? You must be kidding

                            He's not kidding though: Jeeps have weird stuff done to them; everyone started with the same thing, but being Jeeps, they have been adapted to a) what the owner was doing with it and b) their budget And yes drive them...no point in owning something you're never gonna use.

                              Too bad, I am late on this post..., i should connect more often

                              The Gladiator is a '66 and the 327 V8 is original, it has the "custom cab" option too


                              The Wagoneer is a '63 or an early '64, i can get the production date if needed. The 327 is not original, this rig had a 6 cylinders Tornado engine
                              It's a "custom" model ("C" in the VIN)


                              I dig the wagoneer arm rest, they would be perfect for my 65 Wagoneer, if you ever decide to sell them..
