If I found a early 80's model cherokee with an np208 and a T-176 4 speed manual tranny, would the tailshaft from my 727/np229 setup still fit? I'm thinking about swapping hubs, transfer case with linkage, and possibly the rear drivesaft into my '89 waggy.

Not really, no. I'd have to switch out the pedals and then prolly mess around with the flex plate and mounts since the cherokee is a 258.---------------------------

And yes you will need the driveshaft swapped as well. But it will all bolt up. Don't forget to get the shifter and linkage for the Np208 and install it also ( Look for "J10 Mikes" shifter mod for pics and write up),unless you just like having the floor mounted flag shifter.Tom Gibson
1980 J20 Utility bed truck. Factory cab and chassis truck. Many new mods for it but it will look all stock.
1985 J10 nothing special just a nice clean stock truck.
1977 Honcho "Blue" 401/400/quad. Under going major upgrades.."This is Not Your Fathers Honcho", it may not even be a Honcho anymore when done.
