mix match of early and late AC parts

Can all the parts from a late 70s early 80s AC setup work with a '87 under dash AC unit.

I was hoping I can grab the under dash mount from a 87+ (for my '87), but use the rest of the system from an earlier FSJ. Reason being I can't find a whole system locally for an 87, but I can get everything from a late 70s early 80s locally. I then have a source for an under dash unit which would have to be shipped.
