Tailpipe diameter?

I would get under and measure. My 81 had 2.5" going from y pipe to muffler and 2.25 from muffler to end of pipe. I got a 2.5" cat and muffler and it fit great without the tailpipe.

I am getting a new cat to put on myself. I am thinking 2.25 x 2.25 stock, correct?


I can buy a cat for about 50 bux and put it on myself, I imagine. Saving about 150.00 from the shop charges.
