  • NOS Splash Guards (aka Mud Flaps)

OK, so I have these splash guards now; found them on Craig's List for incredibly cheap. I'm debating whether or not I should install them on the SJ; my friends have said both ways. They's NOS AMC Jeep from the early '70s; I have two pairs. Right now I'm really only debating the rear; the fronts are less critical I think

I do want to put on stock Jeep aluminum wheels, and blackwall tires in the future (aka when these tires wear out). So that will change the look some.

So what do you guys think? Splash guards or no splash guards?

your rig is generally stock looking and a set of NOS mud guards would look awesome! I LLLLOOOVE those old NOS mud flaps. I wanted a set for my Cherk but didn't have any cash when a set came up on fleabay. Did you get the ones that just have the AMC Jeep logo on them?

They're not the ones you're thinking of--they're older style ones, with most of it being stainless, and then there's some black rubber at the end. Here I'll see if I can upload pics now...didn't work when I initially posted it. Nope, they're too big.

      They're just like these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/115511195978

Thanks guys (rang-a-stang and crankyolman)! I ended up installing the rears today. Maybe I'll install the fronts eventually too, we'll see.

These came with my 87. Gave em a quick touch up with water based paint about a year ago.

I think they look boss. I hope they're stock for 87 but I don't really know.

I'll see if I can--I tried and they were too big after I resized them and made them all grainy.
