  • Front D44 “dust cap?”

Changing a front pinion seal, I’m coming across a part also needing replacement, but so far, cant find.

1980 FSM shows in between the axle’s pinion yoke and oil seal is this “dust cap.”

So the questions are, does anyone have a source for this thing, OR can it be reassembled and run without it?

Maybe a driveshaft shop. You could run without it, presumably you've been doing so. The seal probably wears faster since junk can splash on it. I'm surprised it shows as a separate part, I thought a new yoke comes with it.
