OEM Tank Install Question -insulation

I have a oem tank and hardware coming for my '88 GW. Hopefully the skid plate is worthy of a blast and powdercoat. Was wondering what a suitable tank insulation might be as I believe there was a blanket insulation around those tanks, yes? Closed cell foam? Mineral Wool? Any thoughts? Thanks

It is a rubber piece that goes up about 1/2 way around the tank to protect the plastic tank from the metal skid plate.

I'll post a pic of a dirty one I have left over..

Though mine was toast when i dropped the tank but after a good cleaning it turned out to be pristine. Seem really durable so would bet yours can be re-used.
