  • Seat belt conversion question

I have a 74 J20 with only lap belts. Found a correct set of shoulder style. Is there any videos or stickys out there showing how to mount upper anchor on pillar above the seat? THanks

The problem is, if you don't have the upper belt/harness mount already there you won't find enough reinforcement in the area to have a safe system. Pretty sure the bottom mount for the belt reel and locks isn't going to be right either. Anchor mounts are way thicker metal and sandwiched in the pinch welds of the pillar.

If you have a trim panel there pull it and see if the upper mount is there. If it's just metal, it might have a trim plug covering the hole.
If no mount, going to be almost impossible to find anyone willing to take the responsibility on installing a safety restraint system the vehicle design didn't incorporate.
