  • new 32 gallon tank installed...

did it for a couple of reasons....

    1. capacity/range
    2. Baffled tank, running EFI with an in tank pump, baffles are better!

    fuel gauge sender: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cin-sn39/overview/

32 gallon tank designed for a 91 full size blazer, picks kind of tell all and yes, those are hockey pucks used for spacers...

she hang's an inch or two below the trailer hitch, pics make it look worse than it is actually! I like it, fired it up and no leaks!

and yes... body work is coming.... I know it's bad lol! Eventually my rig will look like "Plasticboob"'s rig but with metallic gray instead of the red.

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

I picked it up from Rockauto and the tank straps for it as well, it was around $100. Drilled some holes in the frame, placed the hockey puck spacers where they would contact the steel "bumpers" that the spare tire used to ride up against and cinched it down tight, took a little custom work but not bad.

thinking I may take the old skid plate and maybe fab something up though this thing is just on the road most of the time, some forest trails but nothing too crazy...

                we'll see

it was actually the simplest part, I trimmed off the factory metal filler neck tube, used a 90 degree 1-3/4" diameter and clamped them together. Both the factory filler tube and filler tube on the tank were the same diameter, which was lucky!

I used one of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It was just a single tube fill neck. I was all mentally prepared to redneck something together to make them work, measured one then the other and they were the same!

easiest part, one hose, trim ends and two hose clamps, done!

in the diagram right where the arrow points to "filler extension" is about where it got cut.

fuel sender is debatable yet, haven't had much time with it. Put 7ish gallons in it, tank shows just above empty. I measured resistance at the pickup, 59 ohms, 41 at the splice to the factory wire.... I think I may be missing something and maybe I can't just splice these together...

3-1/2" if I remember correctly. Tank came with O-ring and locking ring. I used a square flat metal electrical box cover for the cap, it was a buck and just drilled what holes I needed and turned the square into a circle with the angle grinder
