  • Pics of a Convertible FSJ

I just found a couple pics of a convertible FSJ I saw tooling around Colorado Springs a few years ago. I think it's a pretty sweet ride and think it would be perfect for a SoCal surfin' woody. I don't know where it went, but haven't seen it around lately.

    That looks professionally done. Nice!

I'd worry about the lack of a roll bar, however.

That is wierd looking. It needs some type of roll bar behind the front seats or something. Interesting though.

That looks very similar to the one I photo-shopped awhile back.

I wonder what it looks like with the top up.

Most convertibles don't have a roll bar... what's the big deal?

Do you it has a hard top or soft top? Who could make a soft top if someone wanted to copy it?

Actually, a lot of convertibles have a very low-profile roll bar built in somewhere; often incorporated into the body itself so it isn't even noticed by a casual observer... A lot don't, but you inevitably see aftermarket manufacturers finding a solution for owners.

I know I wouldn't want to be in something with no roof support... there should at least be enough guaranteed free space in the passenger/driver area to prevent someone's head from greasing the pavement in the event of an accident. Ouch!

This waggy looks like a fun cruiser, but I'd be keeping my fingers crossed if I were driving it.

Not a lot can happen in the mall parking lot.

I plan to have a convertable top made. I just got the parts I need to bolt it together and get it out of my garage. Cage is bent and laying in the floor.

It will be ready by June - ECI 2010.
