  • Yep, about the same, as $$'s dry up quick.

But truck does keep the concrete under it shaded nicely, until I can get to it

I finished the rebuild and install of my AW4 in my XJ. Installed it, the new to me NP242 transfer case, and rebuilt driveshaft then road tested it. AW4 seems to be working well! WOooo Hoooo! My 2WD XJ is now halfway to 4WD.

For the record, rebuilding an AW4 SUCKS. I will never to do it again. This was my 3rd automatic trans rebuild and one of the most brain frying/unsatisfying jobs I have done in a loooong time. I do not recommend anyone rebuilding their AW4 themselves.

            • Don't know how long your weekends are!? , but doing jeep stuff through the whole week is not a bad thing!

Yesterday we picked the freshly painted utility bed up from the sand blasters and today in between work appointments the 73 j4000 frame.

Hope to put some things together on Monday!

                • Going to separate the wheat from the chaff. Everything I cannot haul with me is for sale or going to scrap/swap for what I need.
Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental.

                  • Get us a list of the chaf, and if I lived closer I would help you haul it all to your next FSJ location

Hate to think of anything related to these trucks going to the scrap yards!

Felt a bit embarrassed in my ‘87 Grand Wagoneer with the annoying sound of exhaust manifold leaks! Took some time out of my lazy 4 July afternoon and looked closely at the drivers side manifold and found all of the bolts to be in need of tightening! Cinched them all up and definitely better. Need to install some remflex gaskets I happen to have sitting around. At least it is mo betta for now.

                          • I drove mine...it hasn't been getting much road time this summer. After driving other stuff I'd somehow forgotten how nice this one is...quiet, plenty of power, a feeling like you can go anywhere, and just a very solid all around driver. These Waggys are awesome Oh, and it was even better because with the new bushings and the steering adjusted, it drives like a normal car AND the steering wheel is straight when you're driving in a straight line...well close enough to straight now. It's not pointed 80 degrees to the left anymore

Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend! Well, those in the US...I don't suppose people outside the US states and territories were celebrating too much. But Canada got their day on the 1st.

                              • I dug in the shop trying to find parts I have had stored. Realized the majority is buried under 3 years worth of stuff, LOL! Will have to wait for kids to claim their property and clean shop up to get to parts.
