Okay, so I know someone knows this answer! when adjusting the kick down which way do you move it to shift sooner? Thanks guys......
1980 Cherokee Chief. AMC 360; With Edelbrock Intake manifold and QuadraJet Carb, Edelbrock shorty Header (Wish for the Doug Thorleys) Proform HEI Dizzy. Also a Aluminum Radiator with a Flow Kooler water pump. It's sitting on a BJ's Off-Road 6" lift kit and 35" Pro Comp Xterrains on a Pro Comp Series 1069 Wheels.
I think if you adjust it so there is less tension on the rod with the throttle closed, it will shift sooner. But I believe under heavier throttle, it will make the trans slip because its not making as much line pressure. Hopefully someone more familiar will chime in.
Thanks! It doesn't really look like anyone knows much about the TF727.

The adjustment under the hood is sensitive. The accelerator pulls the lever toward the front of the vehicle. Typically, that adjustment 'slips' so adjusting is typically moving the rod 'forward'. IIRC. And recollection is getting harder...
I have done this myself, but it is interesting that when I had the trans shop do a filter change and replace the speedometer seal, they adjusted it and it never worked better! Must be a trick.
I think the idea is the adjust, drive, re-adjust.
